As the colors run together in this mixed up world, melting all into a dull wearisome gray, God names the colors aloud to us. Calls us to believe and hope in something that we cannot always see, or ever see fully in their vibrancy. And He calls us to live as “persons of color” in this world. Oftentimes a process of taking the gray and against all logic and science, pulling out a bit of yellow, a bit of blue, and more importantly, at the end of the day, finding in the work itself a spot of gold, the finger-touch of God.
